Former Shadow Chancellor, Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Shadow City Minister Chris Leslie MP has been one of the most interesting backbench voices since the leadership election.
He is in his second stint as an MP, after being elected as member of Shipley in 1997 (and becoming Baby of the House), before being appointed a minister in the Cabinet office before his 30th birthday. He returned to the House in 2010 as MP for Nottingham East, after spending the 2005-10 parliament as director of the New Local Government Network think tank.
He will talk about his view of the challenge of the post-crisis environment, and how a modern Labour party should think about issues like protecting consumers, creating growth and economic sustainability in modern, changing markets. Hopefully he also knows where the Ed Stone is.
